grunerhund:

Just want to warn any new followers that I do reblog dead stuff (skulls, bones, pelts, mounts, etc.) from my taxidermy blog on occasion. If you’re not into that sort of stuff just blacklist the “taxidermy” tag with Tumblr Savior and it will no longer appear on your dash.

Thanks for the +follows!

I came for the photo-bombing Betta, and stayed for the dead stuff & weird-o chocolate border collie. <3

A sparrow crashed into my kitchen window yesterday. :(
After so many years of collecting animal parts, this is the first time I’ve ever pinned anything. Normally, I let feet dry out on their own, but I’m a little concerned about the amount of meat on these sparrow wings ~ I might have to pack them in salt.

Phaedra, three months old, and so happy to see me even when she’s hungry and waiting for a clean diaper!
Lately, she’s been finding her voice and cooing more often. She sleeps through the night in her crib [even though we usually don’t get to bed until 1:00 or 2:00 a.m.] and sometimes I have to wake her up for a feeding so that I don’t get engorged. She’s also wriggling around a lot more and starting to grab things [which complicates diaper-changing].
I know it’s early, but I’m watching for any subtle changes in her eye color. Ceinwyn still had blue eyes at 3 months, and we all thought she was going to have green eyes like her dad, but she ended up with hazel/brown. I have a feeling that Phaedra’s eyes will stay blue, but I’m still kinda hoping for green.

I tried out a different amigurumi ball pattern this morning. At the top is the first one I made and it’s considerably smaller than the other two. The only explanation I can think of is that maybe my tension was too tight for the first ball. By the time I was making the last two, my hands were getting sore and I was unable to hold onto everything so tightly.

So, Ceinwyn’s got roseola.

I suspect that she caught it when we took her to a park [almost two weeks ago] and she had a hugging-marathon with a little girl that befriended her.

I took her to see the doctor today because of a nasty rash that was spreading at an alarming rate. This was on top of having a fever for two days (which I assumed was due to teething).

Nothing to do now but wait for it to run its course. Unfortunately, I’m starting to worry about how crazy I need to be with cleaning toys [of which, there are millions, btw].

Luckily, Phaedra shouldn’t catch the virus. Apparently, it only likes to eat little children ages 6 months to 3 years.
